Electronic Voice Phenomana is a process by which you can recieve messages from the otherside using a recordable device such as a tape recorder. The process is actually very simple BUT, alot of patience is required to interpret what is recorded.

 

When doing EVP, you must provide some kind of "catalyst" such as white noise, running water, or a blowing fan. This will give Spirit something to "ride" on to get their voice(s) thru the veil and onto the recording device.

 

Normally, only 3 to 5 minutes of recording is required to recieve an EVP message. However, it may take longer depending on the energy levels of spirit at the time the EVP is taking place. That is why patience is needed when performing an EVP session.

 

The equipment used by most EVP investigators include a Tape Recorder, Microphone, some form of White Noise, a computer, some kind of audio software to breakdown the recording for interpretation, headphones, and alot of patience. EVP doesn't happen right away as a rule. It may take several sessions to even get just ONE word from spirit. That is why patience is needed. You may have to listen to your recording over and over again inorder to hear what (if anything) spirit has left you on your recording device. And then you may only have recieved one word form spirit.

 

With the speeds of todays computers it is easy, by using audio software, to slow, filter, and reduce the noise of EVP recordings in order to hear what Spirit has to say. With practice and again alot of patience, anyone can attempt EVP.
